And as someone told me:

Like the Bougainvillea
Colourful and wild - I am! And like Bougainvillea, I don't resist being 'trained'. As long as Bougainvillea is always reaching up into the sunlight and is nurtured from the nutrients of the earth and watered, it will just keep blooming and sharing its glory. It's amazing to discover that the ash from the fire and flames of life is what enriches and nourishes the vibrant colours and growth of the Bougainvillea which, like the rose bush, has thorns.

An inspirational saying discovered on a plaque in Ranine's glorious garden of Beau Villa, says it all:

'Do not dismay that the rose bush has thorns, but rejoice that
the thorn bush has roses'.
